In the field of indoor games, playing foosball has become a popular choice for amusement. Foosball or Table Football is simply a table-top game that has rules and mechanics closely associated with football or soccer. Those who hunger for competition and crave for fun are easily enticed into this recreation. And being a contact-related game, the equipments utilized are subjected to physical damage and other harmful elements. This is why it is important to take care of the equipments and practice customary maintenance, especially the main part: the table; Here are a few tips.

Keep the Table Clean

The table is the playing field; therefore, it will surely be exposed to dust, dirt, sweat, food debris and spilled drinks. It is vital to clean the table at least once a week. For the table top surface, simply wipe it with dry cloth to get rid of solid debris. Then dampen the cloth with rubbing alcohol or soap solution and wipe again to remove stains and blemishes. Do not worry. Rubbing alcohol is not harmful to the surface because it has high evaporation properties.

Have a Side Table

Do not be too confident with the side rails because most Football Tables can easily be imbalanced or flipped over with little force. Since playing foosball is always better with lots of chips and drinks around, then it is sensible to have another side table where all the food and beverages should be placed. This way, no spilling and scattering of food debris can happen.

Clean the Rods and Balls

In cleaning the rods of the table, foosball silicone is recommended. Just apply a small amount of the silicone into a cotton rag and wipe it firmly on the rods. It is misleading to use WD-40. Sure, it will make the rods glossy and well-polished at first application but for the long run, it will weaken the durability of the rods due to certain chemical reactions from WD-40 compounds. In cleaning the balls, use scrubbing pad and dish soap. Then just let them dry up naturally. Do not use electrical dryers.

Tighten the Men

The player figures in the table are attached to the rods. It is important that these figures are attached tightly because loose attachments can result into cracking or breaking. In addition to that, loose figures will affect the accuracy of the passes and shots during the game itself.

Keep Frustrations Away from the Table

Emotions may run high during the course of the game and frustrations may start to sink in. But please… put frustrations anywhere else but the table! Some players have tendencies to punch, slap or swing things at the table when frustrated. Football Tables are not punching bags or stress balls so that is a no-no if you want them to last longer.

These are a few useful tips in maintaining the functionality, structural strength and beauty of Football Tables. It is now the responsibility of the owners to make sure they are followed.
